Her talk will be followed by short inputs from three other female leaders to illustrate why gender matters when addressing solutions for the current pandemic and for the effectiveness of long-term solutions for human wellbeing:
- Dr. Kathleen Mar, WLPH and IASS, will discuss how Germany is handling the post-lockdown and the slow reopening in the context of child care, which seems to be less prioritized than other powerful industries.
- Dr. Maka Maglakelidze, WLPH and IASS, will share insights from Global Alliance on Respiratory Diseases, which addresses air pollution and COVID-19.
- Laura Jung, WLPH and KLUG, will highlight the importance of bringing women to the table, giving the female voices are still underrepresented when it comes to decision-making. Gender equity is needed for more sustainable and gender-just solutions, for climate as well as COVID19.
